I got about 2 weeks into the guitar before i quit...i'd still like to learn one day

I never picked up a guitar, but my son plays. He is self taught and I must say I am pretty impressed. He had no interest in music around age 9-10 but I bought him Guitar Hero. After that, it was all over with. Now music is really important to him. (He is 15) I like the fact he hates rap and loves rock.

Haha. He is a self proclaimed nerd. He is actually trying out for the quiz bowl team today! So the guitar playing balances out his nerdiness. He thinks he is a nerd, but he is a cool kid.

Morning.
Is that your idea to make extra fishing/hunting cash?
I would love to learn how to play, but I have 0 musical talent. I'd love to be able to sit out by a campfire and pick to some old country all night.

I enjoy it when my son sits around the house and plays some tunes. The funny thing is most kids never finish learning a whole song before learning another one. I always give him a hard time about that.

Update on my lil girl. I know y'all are dying to know. Only a few tears this morning when the bus came. I told her if she was brave this morning, I would take her to Chuck E Cheese tomorrow morning. Good news is it worked....bad news is I will be at Chuck E Cheese tomorrow morning.

Good to hear Deacon. My wife said my son was pretty good this morning as well.
As to learning to play the guitar, your fingers will be sore for a couple of weeks, maybe more.
I tried to learn and could play some, but just didn't have the time to really learn.

Actually, if I have to go to CEC, Saturday morning when they first open the doors is the best time. No one is there yet and sometimes they test the machines before they open so they have free tickets sticking out of the machines.

I haven't been to Chuck E Cheese in 20 years. I barely remember it. I guess I'll be going in a few years though.
