Early Spring trip to Uvalde area - anyone have information on fishing?

Title says it. I'll be there hunting most of the time but one day I want to go fishing. They've got several rivers in the area (Frio, Sabinal, etc.) and that's where I want to fish.
Looking to catch bass, sunfish, whatever else is edible that will hit the line. Anyone been fishing on these rivers and have any tips? Is the best way to do this to rent a Kayak?

I went there on a dove trip 2 months ago. The guide I was with took us bass fishing. I caught my PB 9lbs had a blast. I’ll text him and get you some info. Give me a few

I got no specifics but a few points to remember, most all of the land around those rivers are private property, there will be spots to dump in a kayak but you'll have to arrange transportation for where ever you plan to exit the river. Another is the weather, spring time you'll never know what you'll get but all it takes is a couple of inches of rain in certain areas and those rivers get out of their banks in a hurry so heed the warning. Lake Amistad is about an hour west of where you will be so lining up a guide over there might be an option, fishing is awesome there in the spring and the lake is one of the most beautiful bodies of water in the country if the water is at a decent level.

Dad has a friend who has a ranch that has some Pecos River frontage. At that point, it is not the muddy West Texas version of the Pecos but the clear, spring fed version. The water is magnificent.
Kayaking North of Lake Armistad is beautiful but not for a beginner because of the private property issue.
Lake Armistad is an underrated lake.
