Sells for several thousand dollars now

It depends. I have a 12,20 and 16 gauge model 12. They are all field grade guns. All in really good condition. I bet I’ve killed 1000 squirrels with the 16. It’s a full choke and a squirrel assassin.

You can find the standard grade Model 12’s for $600-$900. There are skeet and trap grade models that sell upwards to 5K depending on condition,

Nah, it was great. Got my football pads and helmet, baseball glove, and crawfish and crab nets there.

Dad traded or bought a mod 12 12g in 3” that my brother has now and my son will inherit. Wouldn’t think it’s worth $1,000.

I used to love going to look at that stuffed polar bear in there as a kid.

My dad worked there before opening up his own shop, he used to tell me all the time how he wishes I could have seen that place in its heyday

Never got to experience Steinbergs because my dad was not the outdoors person; however, the Athletic House on Tom drive was a kids dream that played sports. I was so upset when it closed. It was like when Toy's by Roys closed in Cortana Mall.

That was the only place in BR to get decent baseball equipment and uniforms. Things have really changed. There were also some popular watering holes on Tom Drive (The J Club comes to mind) that my older brother and his friends would frequent. That area has become rather hoodish these days.

My dad used to take me there. I remember how excited I'd get. In Shreveport Lorants is sort of the Steinbergs of NWLA. I hope they're still there.
