My cousins always swore that that bayou ran all the way North to the swamps around faulk but I have no clue if that is true. I figure that they were just screwing with us.

I had a friend when I was a kid that used was convinced there was a bigfoot-like, "White Thang" in our woods. He was always pointing out evidence, like the long white hairs from the belly of a deer hide I'd thrown in the woods.

No,it's just silly. I've been in some extremely remote locations and there is always human trash and other signs of people. We cover the terrain too thoroughly for there to be no convincing evidence. Screw the blurry photos, we would have bones and bodies by now at the least.

Les Stroud (Survivorman) claimed to have seen a giant ape during a show while filming in Alaska and he claimed two other encounters while he was living in the bush with his wife. His accounts of these events are on youtube.
For the record, he didn't say anything about the Alaska incident during the filming but was asked specifically about it during one of the year end wrap up shows and answered it.

So the claim is that there is a 8-10ft 400-500lb "intelligent" monkey roaming the woods and you think this thing is dumb enough to walk infront of cars and freeze like a deer in the headlights. Not to mention that monkeys in general are said to have 10x the strength of human beings. If it was hit it would probably completely destroy the car and somehow manage to drag itself back into the woods.

I wouldn't say its impossible for them to go undetected. I know a guy with a high fence property that has found sheds from bucks that he didn't know we're on the property. This is highly managed land with extensive population surveys. It stands to reason that if a deer can remain hidden in a confined area (2500 acres) then a highly intelligent animal could remain hidden in millions of acres of wilderness.

Go on youtube and watch the amateur video that accidentally capture them. I have there a plenty to chose from and so many that it has really intrigued me.

There are not literally hundreds of vids on youtube from multiples countries and they have common proportions and gate. No way this orchestrated.
