Has anyone made their own versa buttons for climbing sticks?

We need a sticky thread on stand set ups and mods for sticks. Could help a lot of people.

Just put up my hawk helium sticks and millenium m60 this past weekend. I didn't fall out of the tree yet so that's a plus. I highly recommend the millenium SafeLink. Much easier to use then a belt.

I was thinking about trying to build some DIY sticks but after buying all the parts you don't save that much. He salvaged tree brackets off his old stick. But at 10 bucks a pop that's 80 right there for 4 sticks. 10 bucks for each aluminum tube, steps at 10+ a pop. All the hardware, you can buy a set.

You are correct sir... but if you want some parts EASTERN WOODS OUTDOORS is a great place to get them. He has pretty much everything you need.

hawk helium sticks look to be the best deal. im looking to get a pair, i just need to decide if im gonna get a saddle or a latch on. im at an impasse because i would have thought the saddle route would be much cheaper but it isnt.

I think the reason he built his was he wanted them a custom length so they would pack better and also weigh a little less.

How far are you walking in?
. A few hundred yards. I just want to be able to move around from hunt to hunt without having multiple stands. This is my FILs land and not something I want to set up for permanent stands.

Lifeline/Safelink is NOT meant to be support when putting up and pulling down sticks/stands. That is designed to be used when your stand is set and you are ascending and descending

You can also pre-drill these before the season with an electric drill... use the woodpecker to clean out the holes if you don't use them for a while.

I'm switching to a saddle and 1-stick method this year. The lock-on with 4 sticks is just too heavy and bulky for me to hike around scouting for good sign to hunt on public land. I think the saddle will be really good for my style.

Not sure, I would says mid 20’s. I walked 42 miles in 6 days last year in Missouri and it was never an issue. I would go M7 if I was getting another setup though.
