I would almost rather it come on and stay on at dusk if it would last through the night, how long does your last you know?.
Seems the instant on may be the only time it can spook them. Maybe after time they get used to it as long as there is not a BOOM every time it clicks on

Do you have any issues spooking them when this light comes on instantly? Had to leave it out there for a while for them to get used it it?
I haven't had any issues at all so far. It took them about a week to get used to the light but now they come right up. The best part is that it's like an alert when you are sitting in the stand. Very handy and cheap. I have the Wildgame Innovations motion light and this setup is far superior.

No problem at all. Just don't forget to tint the glass. I found some cheap red auto tint on ebay for $5 and tinted the inside so it would hold up to the elements better. Still lets pretty of light through but dims it down so it doesn't spook the hogs or raccoons. I've been using 2 of these for the last 6 months or so and they are still going strong. I mounted mine on 2x4s about 10 feet away from the feeder. Mount them on the side between the feeder and the stand and you will get a nice silhouette when the hogs show up. Good luck!

So you are using red not green...any reason or just easier to get red? Do you have a red dot on your scope or can you see the cross hairs?

I've never really "measured" how long it stays on, but its a while. Again, this is a malfunction as it used to only light up for a minute or so after something would move in front of the sensor.

My buddy has the green light that mounts directly to the bottom of the moultrie feeder. We've killed quite a few at his camp just sitting at the camp at night. itbworks very well.

I think red is a bit dimmer and less likely to spook them but this is all just me. I have a wildgame innovations light that is green and they don't seem to mind it either. I've just found red to be easier on my own eyes once adjusted to darkness and I would assume it would work the same way for wildlife. I use a 3x9 or 4x18 magnified scope with standard crosshairs and I can see them just fine.
