That was in Houma 2 years ago I believe. We could have sunk the boat with Canvasbacks that day but they were illegal that season

I thought ringneck = blackjack....At least thats how we've always referred to them in NELA

Ring necks are also called blackducks and blackjacks by the older folks. Scaup are referred to as dogris. When in flight the dogris have a whiter belly and the blackduck are the darker belly. We shoot the blackducks and leave the dogris.

Here is a hunt from Lake Bouef on Dec.29

Looks like that wood duck hen was in the wrong place at the wrong time...and it looks like you went one duck over your limit.
