Anyone know of a decent place to crab from the bank in this area? Want to take the kids during the week but fairly new to the area.

Seawall in front of Buccaneer State Park. This area can get overrun by trashies on the weekend but should be good during the week. I'd bring a rod with a chartreuse plastic tied on as well.

You can go along the sea wall in BSL. Don’t know how good it is. I bet if you went down by buccaneer state park where those grass flats are you’d find some. I know some get two poles with nylon string. Stake one pole in 3’ of water. Take the other and run it 50 yards away with the nylon string connecting the poles. You want it somewhat tight. Every ten feet tie a chicken neck on it where is sits about 2’ under water. Repeat all the way down the line. Then wait a bit and run the line with a net and hopefully scoop up crabs on the necks.

Yeah I had thought of doing it trot line style out in about waist deep water. Just looking for something fun to do with the kids and hopefully catch a few dozen for a boil. Figured they may run along the beach similar to grand isle.

They do. I’ve seen quite a few giggling at night as a teenager there.

Flounder gigging is a fun activity and like lsuson said you can run into some crabs (hard and soft).

Due to low oxygen/freshwater present along Ms. coastline right now there are alot of crabs, flounder, sting rays, etc... being pushed up along the beach.
