Anyone out there with experiences with these boats? Looking at shallow water options.

I've been hunting for a boat for a few months.

From all my research, I can't find a better bang for my buck than just buying straight from Gatortail.

I would agree with this.

Maybe Backwoods Landing...

I got a quote from them for just boat and trailer.
Nothing special, just their 18 ft tunnel hull I was going to power and rig out myself. A bit of a sticker shock at over $8K.

Yep, I work in fabrication/manufacturing, and I can tell you there is not much profit built into gatortail hulls. As for the motors and add-ons, they probably bank their margins there.

Surprisingly, Prodigy and Timber creek are the same. The hulls are pretty well priced. The add ons are marked up a good bit.

Cottomouth bare hulls seem way too high in comparison

I'm sure they're good boats but I love my prodigy. I priced a package from gatortail and I wanted gator glide and shark eye running lights and gatortail wouldn't do that for me. So I priced it without those 2 things and it was still more expensive than what I paid for my prodigy with those 2 options and I added a blind on my boat. I have an 1851, 1/8, with a 6 foot front deck, 2 storage compartments under the deck, 2 back boxes, hunt deck, catwalks, you name it, I got it. With a 37gtr on the back and it's the perfect boat for what I do. A little heavier because it's built for comfort, not speed so it's a little slower than the rest of the slow mud boats but still gets me everywhere I need to go. I definitely wouldn't overlook prodigy.

I'm interested in this as well. I'm looking to possibly have a 1756 center console built in the next 2 years to fish reds. I looked at prodigy but was a little shocked at the ball park number he quoted me. Maybe I just don't realize how much it might cost me to have a boat built.

If only fishing reds, look at gheenoes for skinny water running plus speed

Some great deals on facespace

I have a quote from Chad in my desk right now on an 1854 mod-v w/ catwalks, hunt deck, led bar, led interior, rocker panel, built in fuel tank, poling platform, dual rear pods trailer, etc. it's got a lot of options. pretty loaded to the hilt with a 44 black death on it for 26k. the motor is 9k of that. Very similar gatortail is quoted at 23k

No interest in gheenoe, too small.

About 25k. When I got my quote from gatortail it was 26k without the blind, gator glide and shark eyes. So I got more on the prodigy and paid less. And I like the paint job on it better than gator tails.
