Under the current Adaptive Harvest Management (AHM) guidelines, our season will either be 60/6, 45/6, 30/3 or Closed. There is no chance of 45/4; it is not one of the options, so anyone who told you that is misinformed.
Although the Bpops have not been published and the AHM modeling is not complete, we already know a 16-day teal season will be offered and we expect a regular duck season of 60/6. We will propose duck season dates at the Commission meeting, which this month is on a MONDAY because of the July 4th holiday.
We will propose season dates the same as last year for the East Zone and the new Coastal Zone (same as last year's West Zone) with calendar adjustments. The new West Zone will be a little different, but not much ..... enough to give hunters willing to hunt multiple zones another second-split opening day and a few more open season days. With a 60-day season and federal framework limitations, there isn't really room for any big changes. The final approval of proposed season dates will be at the August 2nd Commission meeting.
