I was just wondering the same thing. Been in Slidell for 16 years and always said "next year I'm going to fish the Chandeleurs..." never have done it. Hopefully there is a next year for that.

Katrina didn't get them I think Nate won't...Fished them this year for first time on Backdraft and can't wait for next trip.

Used to fish them a lot back in the early 2000's. Outstand fishing, but the dam sharks were everywhere. Small ones would swim thru your legs. Don't use a stringer too!

Actually if you look at before and after pics after a hurricane you will see that they do not shrink in size much, although they do move. The front coast will erode away but sand and sediment will get deposited on the back end. Its kinda cool.

Forgot about the sharks.... Had to start putting the stringers in the tidal pools on the beach two foot sharks and up. Dancing.
