Wanted to give a report from my trip last week with Diversion Charters to the Chandeleur Islands. We had 12 of us go and had an awesome time. This is my second trip to the islands fishing and this one was the best! Water was clear and fish were biting! We brought home 330 trout and 25 redfish. Caught a 3.12 and a 3.7 trout with a lot of 1.5 - 2lbers mixed in. First morning, hooked onto a tarpon and fought it for 10 minutes and got it to the boat and hook slipped out.
Diversion Charters was great!. Great food (ribeyes, shrimp creole, fried fish, etc.). Brian, David, and Scotty were very helpful in telling us where to fish. Highly recommend them if you are looking for a charter for the Chandeleur Islands!

Always wanted to do that type of charter. What was the cost? Lets see how far I'm off. I say $1200 a man before tip or $14K+

Look at Backdraft Charters 12 men on trip sometimes a short trip is available but same deal they supplied 6 skiffs with outboards they launch them tell you best areas, feed you have great staterooms and bathrooms. We went out forever two nights and fished for 2 and 1/2 days. Can only keep limit for one day because boats are coming out of MS fishing in LA waters. Made the trip twice it is truly a bucket list item. Bring A lot of tackle as if the spanish mackerel are there they will slah and ruin topwates. Oh yeah get ready to fence with the small sharks as they like trout on a stringer. Costs were sale 600 a manI think with a 100 tip. Bring tackle and alcohol.

We saw sharks and sting rays everywhere!
Bring lots of tackle for sure! Lost quite a few top water baits to Spanish, jacks, and monster ladyfish.
Top notch trip and will do it again next year. It was $800 for the trip and everyone tipped $150 so $950 total. Well worth it

Can only keep a one-day limit? That’s a huge bummer for such a cool trip.
