My dad recently got an email from covert saying that our 3g cell cameras will no longer work beginning the 1st of next year. Apparently at&t is doing away with 3g all together. I have heard that Verizon is doing the same thing. Other than buying new 4g cameras, is there anything that I can do to convert the current 3g models to 4g?

Nope. You should have already sold them.

No cannot do anything about it.
Covert is offering to discount you to a new camera prorated against how long you have had the existing one.
In my case, my camera is two years old, so I will get less discount than you will.
I’ve looked at several friends wireless cameras and by far the Moultrie with modem sends the best pictures.
I may or may not take the covert deal.

I just had to upgrade my Moultrie modems last week. Luckily Moultrie is offering $20 replacement for each 3g modem on an individuals account. It cost me $64 including shipping to upgrade three modems and I also have a $20 mail in rebate for each modem. Should only cost me about $4 in the end.

Verizon is shutting down 3G at end o 2019 and ATT is shutting down 3G in 2022. Why would camera companies just stop supporting ATT this year?

I have a moultrie and spypoint. The Moultrie is much more dependable and gets a signal easier. The plans are more expensive though. I have it hooked to one of their panoramic cameras.

I like them. Only problem I’ve had is staying on top of the updates. If you don’t I’ve had problems with them not connecting to the server. I will say, they eat batteries. I usually run a splitter and have my camera and modem hooked to a solar panel.

How do the panoramic pics look in the moultrie app?

I have 3 180i cameras and I just bought a moultrie modem for one of them. I also got a external 12v battery, solar panel and splitter.
Looking forward to getting it setup when I get home.
