Has anyone been stung by one?
Sitting on my deck and it looks like a carpenter bee air raid.
I have never known anyone that have been stung by one.
I've been stung by wasp and yellow jackets.
What BEE in your opinion has the worst THUMP.

Just stay away from the females.
The males do not sting. :)

Ground bees are the worst. Last time one got me, it felt like a bullet. Then I couldn't get all of the stinger out, because it went so deep. Got infected bad, and the scar looks like a bullet scar.

quote:Never stung by one, but I saw a grown man beside himself after being hit. I bought 40$ of bee spray and lathered the bushes, waited and they began to dig again. That's when I saw them come up from the ground, I smoked them then and repeated.

What is a ground bee? Never heard of that. Yellowjackets? We've got plenty of them here.

Yea, I’m also wondering what they are calling ground bees. I think there are a couple different species of bumble bees that colonize in the ground. Some are black and yellow and some are a more blackish. There is one species that is fricking huge (bigger then carpenter bees). I can see that species knocking the shite out of you.

Yeah, I think it's the same thing as yellow jackets, but when I see 'em coming out of the ground, I don't hang around to get a good look at 'em.

I've been bit a few times but every time was due to cutting grass. They don't like engines. People Say they don't bite, bull crap. They don't bite that pop the dog shite out of you. And if all the things I've been but by, those bastards make me swell. I just did my annual demon WP soaking of all things wood af my house. I need to do another round and there are still a few flying.
