Can rabbits really scream?

I have seen many rabbits in my day, and have never heard of this mythical bone-chilling scream they are said to produce. Not in real life. Not in video. Not in sound byte.
Is the rabbit scream as real as snipe hunting?

Killed my share of rabbits and there are a lot where I hunt now but I've never heard them make a peep before.

I have seen them fighting or what ever the two were doing. Big cane cutters. Squealing noise.

I've heard them do it twice. Once when a big chicken snake was chokin the life out of one. And the other was when my cat caught one. And that one called in coyotes that almost got the cat. They did get the cat a few nights later.

Yes they scream!! If you grab them while they are alive, wild rabbits scream for their lives..

wow, great story. I've heard one squeal before, and seen one beat a cat silly with it's back legs.
Any cat that can take a full grown rabbit has my respect also. Of course, if it can't get to a tree before a coyote gets it, then all bets are off.
