As has been mentioned since I posted, there are many words that are different in different parishes.
Chicots where I grew up in Avoyelles were cypress knees . I don’t recall them being called Boskios or whatever.
I’ve told the stories about Cowans and Gallets and the difference in meanings between Avoyelles translations and further South.
