none of what you posted has anything to do with what we're talking about.

If what upset you about this story was the fact that two asians were involved, you seriously missed the importance of the arrest. But then again, I haven't lived in Louisiana in a few years, so I suppose since I've been gone, ALL non-asian poachers have relented -- thereby making the only illegal fishermen in existence to be of asian pursuasion?

What is the deal with the Asians in Venice and illegally taking sharks? I have a buddy that has a house boat down there and said they've pulled up to it a few times and had them on the deck cleaning out sharks.
A lot of asian fisherman in the Empire/Buras/Venice area.
Cleaning out sharks? You mean cutting the fins off? You are allowed to catch sharks and cut the fins off but you are not allowed to cut the fins off and throw the sharks back in the water to die.
If anyone is wondering, the fins are used to make some type of sharkfin soup. It's supposed to be a delicacy for Asians. Shark meat is only worth $.20/lb and the fins can be worth $15+/lb.
