Bow Hunters

I went to shoot today with one of my good friends and it was a lot of fun. I haven't shot a bow and arrow since 5th grade so needless to say I am not very good. But I am thinking about starting to do some bow hunting. We were using small 25lbs compound bows and it wasn't to bad. So my question is what are some of the things I need to look for when buying a bow. The guy teaching the class said you can get as cheap as $150 all the way up to the >$1k for them. I know you get what you pay for but what are some good brands and some add ons (sites, knoks, tiger locks).
TIA
TIA

Just skip everything and buy the Mathew's Z7. Best bow ever made. And killing a deer with a bow blows gun hunting away. Nothing like it.

I shoot a bowtech 82nd airbourne. Not the most forgiving bow as far as let off but it's FAST. Any newer model bowtech, Matthews, Hoyt, PSE, or Fred Bear you get will be good. Don't let anybody on here talk you in to a specific bow. Just look at those brands, go shoot at Cabelas or any outfitter and decide which one fits you best. And good luck, my man.

What is the price range I should look for?

I recently got into bowhunting and I bought my bow (PSE Nova) on craigslist. I got a good deal: bow, 12 arrows (3 muzzy broadheads) case, and 2 targets for $250.

Friend of mine used to own an archery outfit here in town. He would let you try out the bows to see which one you preferred. He had a range with this video hunting set up, it was very cool.

Bass Pro has a combo for sale this holiday season. Its the redhead Cronik, and it shoots excellent. Regular price is 400 but its on sale for 350. I was impressed with it because I was there to look at a bowtech, and I liked it more. Good let off, smooth, quiet and fast. It's on my christmas list
