I will be a resident of LA in the next couple of months. Grew up fishing all along the southeast coast. Is there a book or anything that can give me a high level overview of coastal fishing down that way? Looking forward to learning about the area and meeting some locals. Thanks!

Check out lafb elite. It’s run by a local veteran and it will teach you everything you need to know to catch fish.

Thank you for the suggestion. I have seen his YouTube videos and he seems like a stand up guy. Am definitely going to buy a subscription to that.

I am not sure if any of these are still available but all were written by locals:

"Old Man Says" is a good book.

Probably the best resource would be to get an online subscription to Louisiana Sportsman Magazine and search for articles regarding locations, seasons, baits, fish species, etc...

Fishing can be as difficult or easy as you want to make it. Time on the water and paying attention to all the clues mother nature is throwing out there will help you progress.

I have a signed copy also. You can tell it was definitely not written by someone who writes for a living. Good book.
