I never attempted to train my lab, but a few years ago I stuck a deer behind my house went and got him just to see what he'd to. As soon as we hit the blood trail he took off and went right to the deer. Since then he's found about 10 deer including a big 9 pt I thought I missed last year. Dogs be smart.

You must not have hunted with people from the Outdoor Board. Because when posters here shoot a deer, it falls dead immediately.
