Anyone have a line on covered boat storage for a decent price? I’ve looked at few places in Nola and Hopedale, and the prices vary greatly. What’s the going rate for covered storage or slips on the bayou, and would you recommend covered dry storage or on the water? I normally fish once a week on average so I’m leaning towards keeping it on the water.

Leads are greatly appreciated

I pay $150/month for my 15’x30’ storage in Broussard. That’s the lowest I found around here, some were $200+.

Anyone use neighbor? I guess someone who has backyard space can sign up and rent out spaces? Not much else available near me

You are looking at no cheaper than $250 a month on the water. IMO the con about on the water is you are stuck to fishing that area or have to pull the boat out the day before if you want to fish another area. But it is convenient if you fish the area a lot. It's a double edge sword!

Hopedale marina, semi enclosed for $100 / month is the cheapest I found.

Availability of on the water storage was difficult to find and what could be found required a fair amount of idling before you could get on the gas.

There is a guy on Delacroix highway that rents unfenced storage across the road. He claims to keep one of his boat slips open for temporary use by the across the road renters.

I have PTSD from trailering aggravations, so I put the boat down in Hopedale. It is right at 1 hour from house and .5 hours to hook up and be on the water. This is more than I like. I am probably going to bring the boat home and start launching at Pontchartrain Landing. 15 min from house.
