Bought a used boat with speakers, but no head unit. Didn't really have a spot for one and didn't want radio or CD. So, searched around and found the Kenwood KAC-1824bt amp. Local BestBuy had one in stock, so I bought it. Installed it today. Well, wired it, but may just let it sit in the rod box where all the wires are. Anyway, I think this is a good music solution for those who use their phone as primary music source.

Works very well. Just remember that there's a volume control on the remote. I forgot and initially was disappointed with the volume.

Also, I plugged in my three bank charger with it playing and pretty sure I killed the charger.

I'm flush mounting the remote in my console since I keep the phone is a dry box while fishing.

Glad to hear it works well though. I was worried about it being worth a shite because it's so small.

Buddy has that amp and matching speakers in fincat and it’s loud and crystal clear. Size is amazing.

I decided not to do that. This poor boat has had so many holes cut in it from prior electronics, I hate to add another just for that remote. I don't have a dry box either. Not sure where I'll keep the phone.

You can cover up old holes with a big poly cutting board. Just cut to shape, transfer all the holes you still need, and put a few screws around the edge. Looks pretty clean too.

ETA I'm assuming your dashboard is gel coat and colored white here.

It's a glitter boat. The wiring I had to work with ended in the port rod box. I just left everything in there.
