Anyone ever have a hunting dog with salivary mucocele, a blocked saliva gland? Would like to hear of experience, treatment, and if surgery was needed Thanks in advance for your help.

Problem to me would be keeping the dog still enough to try to remove the blockage

If you are referring to the little clear bubbles that reoccur if you bite em, like we get on our lips, they typically resolve on their own.

I would have to imagine this would cause some issues for a hunting dog as saliva helps dogs to pick up scent particles more easily. Think about dogs like coonhounds and bloodhounds that have a tendency to drool more. This helps them to pick up scent when they're tracking.

Not stopping the drooling process and does not seem to effect His ability to use his trailing scent abilities. It is not painful for him. Just a build up of fluid under his tongue.
