I have an MRI in the morning to determine extent of damage. If tendon disconnect from bone then it will be an easy surgery. If tendon is torn, a little more complicated. If muscle is torn, then not worth doing surgery.
Basically said what everyone else said, I’m out for 6 months. I’ll be able to hunt after 2-3 months but no climbing ladders, dragging deer , using full strength for 6 months. I’ll just do what i can during rifle season, maybe get a crossbow for late season. If anyone has any suggestions on a good ground blind, I’m all ears.

Update.
I had surgery on 8/31 and now 5 weeks post op.
Doing really good with range of motion, should be out of brace in a week or two. No pulling back a compound bow until March, so i went ahead and purchased a Crossbow for this season. A friend of mine let me use his final rest to prop it up out of the window. And i am shooting left handed until i am able to get out of this brace.
I already made 4 hunts using the crossbow. I am not able to cock it, so i have someone else set it for me before i leave the camp. I had steps built for my box stand since i cannot climb ladders. I have seen about 30-40 deer , all does and yearlings. Since i have only one shot, ive been waiting on two bucks to arrive at last light. This weekend i will let the arrows fly on some of these does. Ill keep yall updated.

I was about to suggest a crossbow before reading the whole thread.
If you feel like shooting a gun I’m sure a .22 rifle would be fine.

I had rotator cuff repair, bicep tendon repair (was shredded to tatters over 20 years of working overhead), and they shaved part of my collarbone back.
They are telling me I won't be full strength for over a year, but I couldn't lift my arm anymore and the pain was terrible.
Shoulders are a bitch to rehab. I have SI joint and C5/6 joint fusions that were a breeze compared to this.
