I had bought the atn Thor 4. Piece of junk. Returned it for refund.

I have a Pulsar Quantum LTE monocular and it is great for scanning for targets.
Use an ATN Thor and have not had any problems with it. These deer were about 150 yards away. ( The closest tree you see is in my yard and those are steel fence post braces around them.) Zoom was set to lowest power.
Video of dog and possum. Looks like blood dripping from his nose but is just drool.

Pulsar Quantum xq30v. It was a game changer for me for hunting hogs. Also useful for tracking wounded deer at night when some knucklehead takes a poor shot.

That is probably my favorite optic I have ever bought. I use mine every single night when I carry my dog out. It is amazing the amount of wildlife that is around you at night that you never realized was there. You can even see mice running around in cedar trees from 50 yds. It is the number one tool for me being able to shoot coyotes around my house. If you buy a thermal scope you still definitely need a monocular because it is so much easier to quickly spot game.

Same here. Incredibly useful equipment.

Yup. Anybody who does a lot of night hunting will quickly realize that scanning with a rifle mounted optic is not fun at all. A good thermal monocular makes spotting targets so much easier and quicker. From there a decent night vision scope will get the job done. Sure, a thermal scope will get it done more efficiently if simple extermination is the goal, but that will generally be at 2x-10x the cost of night vision. Besides cost, another advantage night vision has over thermal is better positive identification of targets.
With that I've found that the combo of a good thermal monocular and a decent digital NV scope to be a pretty effective option for those who are trying not to break the bank to get into hunting at night.

I won this in a raffle, is it any good?
No. It's basically useless.. I'll give you $50 for it.

The Pulsar Quantum series may be hard to find now as the line has been replaced/upgraded by the Axion series. I've not looked through the Axions personally but have no reason to doubt they are just as good and probably better than the Quantum.
One area where I hunt hogs is an open pasture about 900 x 250 yards surrounded by woods. On a good cool clear night the monocular can pick up deer and hogs all the way across the long end of the field. At that range you can't tell exactly what it is but you know something is there and where it is.
