The grout or whatever the previous owner used pretty much all washed away with the elements.. what would be a more permanent solution to filling in the cracks between the flagstone?

Quickrete mortar mix and some water. Mix it up, get you a trowel and fill the joints up. After it sets up take some muriatic acid and scrub the stone clean the wash/ pressure wash it off.

I cant see the photo, but I have always just sprinkled dry mortar mix over the area and then swept it into the cracks and off of the stone. It will set in a day or two.

Ditto, would take the garden hose and spray a mist to dampen the mortar mix. Let it dry and you're good. I would also do the muratic acid to clean as well.

I think that’s what the other guy used. It was done in March and allot of it has already washed away. Maybe he hacked up the application?

To clean the flagstone? Where can this be purchased? I’ve used bleach in the past but results weren’t so great.

Maybe so, mine is out two years. Except for it staying wet for a while (I have half of mine under a live oak) after rains, I like it and it was really easy. No wearing issues that I can see at this time.

Mine had quite a bit of build up of sand and limestone needed to level it out in spots and I went with the gator dust because it is supposedly flexible.

You can get it at any hardware store, Lowes etc. Get you a long handle acid brush too. Dilute the gallon acid with 5 parts water.

Very similar to what I'm planning to do for my back patio. Keep this thread updated with what you use and some after pictures if you can. I'd love to have a good template to use when I get started.
