Same here and have been for months. I may crack and buy one soon. Then again, the polished stainless steel CZ75b with cocobolo grips may be the sexiest pistol I have ever seen. May get that instead....

It may have had two boxes through it. Hardly used, but hardley cleaned. VERY old. Like possibly 30 years old.I think it's the Glenfield 30A. Looks like this,

A hardly used marlin 336 with no safety in good shape will be a hot commodity in the future.

Appreciate the interest, but that's not really what I would want. The more I think about it, the more I'm realizing that one day my 4yo may want to gun hunt, and I'll need 2 rifles. Barely have that covered as it is.

Well, actually, after looking up the value, I wouldn't want to do a straight up trade anyway. BUT, you're current plan is def a better one. Rifles like that are great for young hunters. Keep that thing and hand it down.
