Bay side of Dauphin Island fishing

Gonna be there for a week. Was gonna just cast from the bank or fish out of a kayak. Thinking I may be able to find live shrimp somewhere and throw them under a popping cork.

Eastern side or west?
Eastern side the whole flat north of the boat channel from the marina.
I’ve never fished it much but there are always boats there.
West side lots of docks you can fish. Better at night looking for lights.

There are some creek looking areas on Cedar Island if you care to make that paddle. See kayaks in there fishing.
