You are correct, he said sponsors ask for to much in return for the products they give. He says he would rather spend time fishing or with family than working shows.

A few years ago he was begging pretty hard for sponsors.
The elite schedule is not cheap to run and the money drops off so much from 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 5th, etc.
Basically the winner is the only guy profiting significantly week in and week out.

Sounds like you get one backup boat for the weekend. So when he got in the camera boat to head in that was his backup boat. If something happened to that one on the way in he would of gotten a penalty.

But that is dumb in my opinion. Your equipment is yours and should be kept up. Does NASCAR drivers get to jump in another after their's breaks?

Lol do you think these guys have shitty rigs that aren't kept up? They're freaking 100k dollar rigs, it was a freak thing could happen to anyone.

In golf, you have to walk 72 holes to finish a tournament. Even if you can hit the ball fine, if you suffer an injury that prevents you from walking, then you're out. It should be the same with fishing. Your boat should be part of your game, just like your rods and reels.
