I caught a 2 lb bass that simultaneously caught me. Fishing a tiny torpedo. One treble in his lip and when I went to lip him, he shook and hung the other treble in my finger. The more he flopped the deeper it dug.

You'd be a sore son of a gun the next day after casting and retrieving that heavy rig. Not to mention reeling in all those fish

This isn't mine but this is a pretty common occurence of "doubles" offshore California. You'll be jigging for rockfish, catch one, and as you reel it up a lingcod comes and grabs your fish. If you're careful about netting it you can wind up with both fish in the icebox.
