Auodad hunt from this weekend

Went to the Palo Duro canyon to hunt free range Auodad or Barbary sheep this weekend and it was a blast. The shaw of Iran gave the US in the 1940s and they were introduced to the region and have done quite well. The things are tough as hell to hunt because of the terrain. Shot him on the highest rim of the canyon and was hell on earth getting him up out of there. Figured I'de share

One of the worst smelling creatures on earth. But they do make pretty mounts with there chaps.

Spotted him from the highest point behind the ram in the pic and was able to get to the next hill that's closer in the pic before the ledges wouldn't let us go any further safely. He bedded down for about an hour and finally got up to move off in the opposite direction and shot him at 410yds. Shot was easy with that Swarovski scope that has the built in mil dots for that 300wsm with a 165gr nosler. Just put the 3rd dot down with was on for 423yds on his shoulder and dumped him. Love that scope and gun

That's some rugged arse country. And a BEAUTIFUL animal. Love the color. What's he gonna cost to mount?
