They completely dug out my front flower bed. I had to replant and remulch it before I put up an 18" fence around it.

I have a cellular game camera in the bed.Much easier than checking every 15-20 minutes.
^This. This method is also compatible w/ the aforementioned bourbon.

Dont need much to keep dillos out from what I've experienced. Hell even a 10" fence might keep them out.

Had one destroying our flower beds late last summer, apparently the grubs were thriving there because we watered it often.
Tried cayenne pepper, crushed red pepper, garlic, moth balls, none of it phased the dillo. Got a wire live trap off Amazon for about $40, put it out and he’d dig all around it but wouldn’t go in, tried worms, food scraps, spoiling vegetables, he’d ignore it all. Finally used 2” x 6”’s and pieces of plywood and built a funnel area, used rebar stakes to hold it up. Took a couple of weeks but he finally funneled into it, finished him with my 10-22.

The Mississippi Armadillo trap works well if it’s scented by a previously caught ‘dillo.
My neighbor has one similar, someone built it for him.To catch the first one he had to make a funnel with boards to get one in.
After that the scent would attract them without putting up boards.
He has caught quite a few.
I recently replaced the bottom for him with 3/4” in plywood as his previous catches had scratched holes in it trying to get out.
Wire cage traps don’t work well, they can tear one up trying to get out.

After a few cold ones, I'll hop on my 4 wheeler at around midnight with a 12 gauge loaded with #4 shot and nail them. I haven't done it in a few months. I might do it tonight.

Back in the 60's and 70's you couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting one. If you went anywhere at night you saw one or more dead or crossing the road. Got one now in my yard after dog and cat food. Put those in something it can't get into and it comes every now and then. Used to love to see them flop when you shoot em. Thought out of the three male cats I got they might team up and run the fricker off. Nope.
