Anyone Use An Inflatable Kayak?

I'm going to get a packraft for my next outdoor purchase. Not quite the traditional yak, but people run rivers in them, some class 4-5 rapids.

Up front it looks like a good idea, but you will never be able to get back down to the size it was packaged brand new, unless you have a vacuum pump.

Another thing to consider is what if you puncture it on a stob while you are out. Unless the material is made of is military grade, I don't think I would chance it.

I've used an inflatable kayak (a/k/a "duck") in whitewater several times. Never seen one as fancy as the pic you posted. Would never fish out of one, however, because fishing involves hooks and whiskers and other things that could put a hole in a duck.

But I would just get a 10' SOT like the Ascend D10T. My buddy fished for years out of an old 10' Pelican sit-in that he strapped to his mini cooper. If he can carry it to Venice from BR on a mini, I'm sure you would be fine with a 10' yak strapped to whatever vehicle you're in now.
