Found a small piece of property for sale that I'd like to go look check out. Looks like the hunting is pretty good up there.

In the hills or Delta? Deer or duck?

Hills or delta?

If you can post a picture of where it is on a map, I can possibly help you.

Hunted exactly opposite side of I55 from there. Between Lexington and Greenwood. That is some absolutely incredible deer hunting in the area. We hunted about 2 miles from where the hills drop into the delta.

In that part of the county, it's got chance to be pretty good. Definitely worth a look, especially if it's around the Big Black.

My club is on the west side of I55 off hwy 12 near Lexington, land mass matters significantly up there in my opinion. What does the property measure?

One piece is 30 acres. One piece is 48. The 48 is closers to Lexington. The 30 is closers to west.

There is a huge problem with theft and corrupt law enforcement in Holmes County. I would warn against leaving tractors, 4-wheelers, etc on the properties.

Lot of government cell phone users run dogs all week over your land. As the poster above said, Leo will do nothing to them.

We've got 100 acres near Ebenezer, its in Holmes County. There are plenty of deer, but a lot of small parcels of land around us where the hunters will shoot anything that moves, so not too many sizable deer. West is on the other side of the county though, so not sure about over that way. Like another poster said there is a large problem with theft in Holmes County, we've had 3 four wheelers stolen off our property over the years.

Agreed, all of our equipment got boosted a while back. If the land closer to Lexington is near the airport be wary, 5 million people already hunt that area.

My family has some land right outside of Lexington before the hills drop into the delta. Pretty decent deer for the hills, but nothing like the delta deer. Everyone is right about the theft problem. We haven't had equipment stolen because we haven't kept much up there, but the house been broken into and they stole furniture, appliances, heaters, etc. Local leo took several weeks to get a report back to us for insurance.

My brother in law lives in Kosciusko and hunts a little west of town towards McAdams. He's killed some nice deer on his family property and always smoking the turkeys.

Own 130 acres in Montgomery County. Right on Big Black River. Had it for 25+ years. Lot of success over the years. Starting to get too many hogs on property but who doesn't have that problem.

didnt the sheriff (or some official like that) in Lexington get busted a few years ago on corruption charges linked to a drug ring?
