I heard the water is rising really fast. My FIL left his boat and Polaris there. Luckily they're insured.

We have a camp north of Jonesville, I drove up Saturday and was in shock at the amount of water along 84. We are off the ouchita and we have water everywhere on our land.

I heard it's the worst they've seen since the 70s.

I have my camper there under a big cover with a porch. I’m fixing to be screwed. The locals told me it would be fine 1.5 weeks ago then again last Thursday as the black was fixing to crest. Well there’s water under my boat shed now and up to my porch. I’m pretty much f’d at this point. The whole reason I have a camper there is for this very reason and I waited too long.

One of my best friends has a camp over there. They have already taken everything out of the bottom story of their camp twice this year. They had 4" of water in it in 2016. I have a feeling it will be for sale soon. They have had multiple 15ft fluctuations on the lake this year.

I lease an RV lot at Larto. Moved my boat and RV out two weeks ago. Water is now higher than it was in 2016. Still rising.....

Our dumb arse governor refuses to open it. Instead he sends WLF and homeland security to Larto today to evacuate people. It was supposed to crest 2 weeks ago, then again last week the the corps of engineers said yesterday it would crest again. Well it came up 3/4 of a foot again last night.

No, I am at Larto Cabins. Morganza is a Corps controlled entity. State has no control. Guidelines should be changed to help in years like this.

Prior to National Floods repetitive loss rules, a buddys camp flooded annually and he was paid annually. I think he had his camp insured for $30,000 and the premium was under $500/year. Every camp down there did the same and made bank.
Can remember fishing off 28 as a kid in the 70's.

Corps decides to open or not open based on cubic ft flowage.

Water is still rising.

Anyone know how the camps on the Honeybrake side are holding up? My uncle's is the one with the huge concrete piles.

All the camps on the honey brake side have over 3’ of water under them right now. Went in there last week to try out a new SI sonar and caught a mess of barfish on crankbaits under one of those camps.

So, this may be a crazy question but with the stages at record highs how is the cubic ft. not enough to open?

Water has to get to a certain height before farmers can get money for all there loses if gates are opened. That’s why they haven’t opened it yet. I was told that by a well known farmer in that spillway. I also hunt in there so I hope they don’t open it.

Everyone thinks that Morganza is the reason the for the increased in high water days north of BR and that increasing the flow would some how help. The issue is with the Old River Control Structure it’s what keeps NO and BR from being a salt water paradise.
