Is that flex exhaust on that rig? Seat or frame looks hard.

You're gonna get wet from the rear tire if you even smell rain.

Nice set up though, looks light for what it is.

Mines pretty nimble for a fat girl. Not much to look at either, but she's pretty smooth. This was taken at Vermillion Cliffs between Glenn Canyon and the Grand Canyon.

Craigslist, barns, just have to keep an eye out. Old Japenese bikes are becoming harder and harder to come across. Especially at a decent price. They've developed an almost cult like following over the last few years, especially the XS650's. I bought mine off a guy who had already chopped it and had to drive all the way to Kilgore, TX to get it. I gave $1000 for it but it had a worn shift fork and was in general, ugly as frick when I first got it.
Just have to keep looking. Alot of times people don't know what they have. Hell I ran across a guy the other day who had taken the motor out of one and put it in an ATV frame. Only to throw the frame/rolling chassis out for scrap. Now he has a piece of shite ATV project that as a whole he could have got about $2000 for, with ease.

Exhaust wrap

Rigid frame with a spring seat. Looking cool isn't always comfortable.

They don't call them home built death machines for nothing.

Here's mine when I first got it. Then it's current state. No idea what I'll do with it when I'm finished. May keep it for a while, may just sell it off.

Buy used. Seriously. There's plenty of Nighsters/Irons in the $5000-6500 range right now. Most with little miles and a few mods already.
You know any sites I should look at? I'm not sure where to get a used bike here

She's not much to look at, but real good at long distance touring at almost any speed. You can get over 300 miles per tank and comfortable enough to ride tank to tank.

Craigslist/Ebay. Where are you located? CL used to be great for deals but it since since everyone knows about it now you have to sort through alot of bullshite and sellers who think that adding this or that means they've invested into it and should get all they're money back.

What does that do, just looks?

spring seat.
Didn't notice springs in the first pic.
I'd kill for that garage area.
Wish I could post a pic of my '72 H2, fine machine.

Just found a guy selling a 2010 Nightster with 4,471 miles for $8500

I'd take a new one over that

Alot of people are mainly doing wrap for looks now. It's actual purpose is to issolate the heat from burning the crap out of you.
I'd love to take an older 2 stroke street bike for a spin. I bet that thing was just loads of fun.

Should only happen when you lay it down, which you will.

Going 60 you could drop it down and pull the wheel up easy.
Too light to keep up with the old 1100 Kaw in curves though.

I raced a guy on a Kawasaki 2 stroke 750 'back in the day." It was definitely different.

Keep the bikes coming guys. And thanks for explaining them and many sharing pics of them. If you must know, I started this thread because I have not road in a long while. I had a nasty crash were I fractured my pelvis in 10 places. And well, Spring and warm weather are here and all these other bikes out have made me jealous. So right now I am charging up my battery on one to take it out tonight. I cannot wait. It's been a while. And nothing on the planet beats riding a bike!
