Just found out wife is bringing kids out of town this weekend for some BS trip that I don’t have to go on.
Found this website for booking open guided trips. There seems to be plenty of availability for a Saturday trip.
Anyone ever use this site?
How’s the trout bite right now in Venice or Shell beach area?
I know it will be hot, but so will golf.

I used it to book a marsh fishing trip for redfish while we were on vacation in North Carolina. No complaints at all.

I use it when we head to the condo in Destin. No complaints about the service.

What I have found out is that a 6 hour trip does not get you any more fishing time than a 4 hour trip, it's just a longer boat ride to a spot further out. Still about 2 hours of fishing on either trip.

Yes. Scheduled a trip with Captain Micah with Fishing Frenzy Charters out of Long Beach, MS using it. He was awesome and we had a great trip.

I have a bunch on last minute trips...have had some good trips and bad trips but the captains/guides whatever they call themselves weren't to blame for the bad trips. The only bad experience I had was with a kayak trip in Mexico Beach that the dude never showed up and I couldn't contact until he called about 10 hours after we were supposed to meet and told me he had an emergency but had time to do an evening trip. Didn't go but I am sure it happens but he could have called me earlier.

I have also contacted guides that I found on fishingbooker.com directly and have paid less for trips by doing so because the site gets a cut of any trip booked but they all book outside of the app as well. All in all it is a good resource, especially with late notice. I fish regularly with a young guide that I booked initially on the site...we always have a big time even when we don't catch a lot.

This. I go one step further and when I call them I mention that I will book on fishingbooker.com. About half the time they will tell me not to and they will reduce the price by about $50 (for a $450 trip on fishingbooker.com) because the site gets about that for each trip booked. There prices on their sites are usually the same as on the site. Most of the time I wind up paying the full price but if they have not been what they should be...rare...I will pay the reduced price. Its a tough way to make money and if they put the work in catching fish does not figure in it...but if they toss a net a few times, catch a half dozen mullet and stay in one area for the entire trip I will take the discount. The young guy I found on fishingbooker that I fish with regularly will throw a net a hundred times if need be...and will move, re-rig, try new things....he puts the work in. And we usually catch quality fish. Sometimes not because thats fishing but if all they want to do is furnish a boat, and thats understandable, all I am going to pay for is the boat...
