Anybody have a camp at Old River (Innis)

How are yall fighting the water and critters every year? Family is giving up on the camp since it's basically a total restart every year as far as mice, mud, debris, water leaks and electrical issues. The pier goes 20' under water every year and a result is pretty much destroyed. I guess that would be solved with a floating pier but it would need roughly 30' of travel to match Mississippi River highs and lows.
I'm planning on tackling each issue 1 by 1 but can't help wondering if it's a futile effort. How are you baws dealing with the river and the hand it deals every year?

Buy a houseboat and forget about a stick built camp.

Buy camp at False River. Simple fix

We have a camp on the east end of the river. Our camp is high enough that water doesn't get into it. Others have floating camps, that ride the water up and down.
If your pier is being destroyed. Maybe ditch wood and go with grating?

We got about 1" ofwater inside our camp in 2011 and rebuilt. Been within a foot since then but hasn't made it back inside. I guess the answer is man up and keep fighting until it blows away or floods again.
Gonna just have to keep plugging mice holes as I find them and keep trapping/baiting.

We never had a rodent issue before 2011 but now every year once the water comes down there are droppings in every cabinet, on every pillow and bed and behind every appliance. I don't mind the clean up but it's hard selling my wife on the camp, she's ready to bail if she sees 1 turd so was wondering if there's something yall are doing to keep the rodents out.

Fiberglass or steel grating for the walk and pier.
Try peppermint oil in cups across the camp. So claim pine-sol poured around the exterior helps. Can’t confirm.. Cats obviously, frequent floods may not work with that.
