I need to replace the bunk supports on the trailer. out of six supports 4 are rusted to the point im scared they may fail soon. Any tips on taking a boat off the trailer out in the yard? Here is the boat in question.

With our light aluminum boat we just got 4 people and put some steel pipe on the utility trailer and rolled it onto the utility trailer. Would not work at all with that boat
Best bet is to launch it somewhere while you work.

Yea. That's gonna be a problem. I actually can't even begin to think of an idea besides to bring it to a launch and just tie the boat up while you work.

We use to do it all the time but we had an electric hitch on the trailer and had a trailer that "broke" in the middle.
Make sure you prop the bow up so you can back the trailer onto it a ways, we also use to tie the back to a tree (oak) in the back yard by the ski holes and pull the boat off the trailer like that we would slide wood crates under it.

The problem is that they EZ loader doesnt manufacture the fitted bunks for this trailer anymore. So I gotta take the old supports off, cut the bad shite off, weld on new metal and put it all back together. This could take some time. My uncle lives on the amite and said I could leave it out there but I dont want it sitting in that poo water for a couple weeks

Ideal would be to find an empty trailer it would fit on that you can borrow for a little while.
Shouldn't be more that a day's work anyway though.

If you don't find a better option, you can tie it up at my house for a couple of days while you get the work done...

It really isn't all that bad if you take your time and think it out.
Like I said, we would tie the boat to a tree and pull the trailer out from under it. putting wooden boxes (we live on a farm) under it.

The thing to do would be to figure out exactly what you're gonna do before you launch it, measure out what you need and prefab supports if possible all before taking the boat off. Then just get up early on a day off launch it and get to work.

Gonna have to figure something out. Last week we replaced the finders the ones in the picture caused me a blow out last trip. We also took all the wheels off, wire brushed the hubs, repainted them and repacked the bearings.

I've never done it with a boat, but what about wooden blocks and hydraulic jacks?

Where is the boat, BR?

If you are in BR, pass by Bass Pro and ask their service department. They have rigging in house and could pick up the boat and do the trailer repairs for you there, then put the boat back on the trailer. The stores with Tracker Marine in them perform these types of services. It may cost you additional money, but you would save time and headaches of driving elsewhere way out of the way to launch the boat and whatnot.

I jacked my boat up to replace the boards......one side at a time.
OP wants to slid the whole thing off.

I appreciate the tip but this has all gotta be done on the cheap. Im repairing everything to sell it. Plan on having a new Shearwater within the next year. The boat itself is in perfect condition, the trailer just needed a little TLC

I'm only 25 minutes from you, if you need you can tie it up at my house for a couple of days. I'm on the Diversion...

Yeah, but if you get longer wooden beams that stretch outside the trailer you can jack it up and pull out from under it.
Better idea to take it somewhere that you can leave in water. IMHO of course.
