Any recs for a good ak47 optic side mount?

I have the Midwest gen 2 and it works well. Other options are RS regulate and mastermount.

However, the best AK optic mounting system imo is the Sabreworks KOP that mounts on top of the front trunnion.

I have RS regulate mounts that I like. Good lock up and slim. Just be advised that if you have a folder, you can't fold with a side rail mounted so make sure you get a mount that maintains zero. On the RS regulate, I use an aimpoint H2 and the instructions require 2 small holes drilled in the aimpoint mount to the side rail. The holes are marked and pins come with it.

I like the RS as you can get variations whether you want the red dot mounted more forward or back. You have choices and everybody has their preference.

In mother Russia, we no use flimsy side mount. We use Vodka and Iron site to kill you western pussies.

Thanks everyone. Ended up ordering a master mount full rail today - mainly bc i like the one piece design & like the look of it. Will use it & give a review.
