The loudmouth isn’t always the boss. Likely just the opposite The loudmouths are usually the 2 year olds
They gobble to let the hens know where they are (if they aren’t already with him). Hens go to him and there is no need to gobble anymore when he is with hens

His data says otherwise.

I went out for a bit the past 2 days searching for Rios and they aren't talking.
I took today off from hunting and I'm riding around on my 4 wheeler with a white can in one hand and a joint in the other.
Eastern don't open until the 19th.

Every day is different. The one we killed this morning had a tornado pass about a mile from him at 2am. Just gotta go every day to see what happens.

I know how it works. And I know they don’t know an accurate turkey population. It’s just too difficult for the animal. I’ve read, and listened to a lot of his data. I can only provide what I observe in SE corner of my state

Amen. The area i go for Rios is not very good. The good places in Oklahoma that have really healthy populations are like 6 hrs away. I can't wait until Eastern season opens because there are some places in SE Oklahoma that are thick.

I hunted in a place called Woodward OK, and damn they had some Turkeys. Only other place I’ve seen with that many were some agricultural places in Kansas. They literally had Turkey crossing signs on the road and dead turkeys hit by cars, on most of the heavily traveled roads. At night, there were skunks everywhere eating the roadkill turkeys. It stunk, cause the skunks were road killed, too....

I have not been yet but my little nephew killed one on one of our farms Monday. First one he has killed on his own.

It is not just Chamberlain that suggests that there is only one breeder selected by the hen. There are multiple sources out there stating this.

Nice! Looks like he's got some spurs on him!

Ha ha. I actually have seen turkeys every trip for a change this year. Bizarrely where I hunt, the afternoon hunts have been the best.
And in my defense, I am legally blind in one eye, have hearing damage and a bad back and hunting in two areas hunted by good hunters where one Turkey total has been killed in 10 years with so Turkey hunting is natural nightmare for me.
I have numerous photos including today of Big tom turkeys strutting and with hens almost daily from 4 pm to 7:00 pm. The one I missed was at 6pm. Also have a few big birds that are coming to a few ridges strutting around right at noon. Hunt all day maybe same issue where u are.

Man it ain’t that hard if you know exactly where they are going to be. Get there at noon and hide yourself. Don’t bring a gay blind or put out gay jake decoys and put your gay calls away and just sit still and shoot the bastard
You are overthinking this
This turkey is being served on a platter to you
Do the gay thing and bushwhack him and once you get one under your belt you can go back to trying to call one up

If this is the case and you really want to kill a turkey and have not, you have not tried or you suck. My 10 yr old daughter can sit for 3 hours for a couple afternoons to kill a turkey.
