Jimbeaux nailed it. That is exactly what I was gonna say for different bullet weights in ARs - twist rate.
I have a 1-9 and it seems to shoot 50-55 grainers the best.
The military uses 1-7 to stabilize the 62-77gr rounds.
The heavier the bullet, the faster the twist to stabilize it.
