Aluminum Boat Custom Transom Work

I need to repower a 2004 Triton 1546DS duck boat. It has a 15" transom, and I would like to raise the whole transom up to accommodate a 20" shaft motor. Does anyone know of a shop that could do this?

Just an idea that might be easier and cheaper. Put one of those jack plates on the back ? I don't know enough about them to be sure if it would solve your problem but worth looking into.

Don't know where you're located, but I bet Jason Romero in Morgan City could take care of it. His company is Uncle J Custom Boats.

I considered that, but the transom sits very low as it is with a 25hp two stroke, battery, and fuel tank. I want a bigger motor as the thing has always felt underpowered with a 25. The boat is rated for a 40 and there is no way it would safely handle the weight of a 40hp 4 stroke. A setback or a jackplate would only add to the weight distribution problems.

Morgan City is not too far. Thanks

Why not get a 15 inch shaft 40hp?
Also, consider putting the battery somewhere more forward in the boat. And maybe dropping 40 pounds "elsewhere" on the boat. No offense.
