I have a carbon pro bed and ordered a bakflip, long and short of it I removed the bed cap and shouldnt have...enough of the molded clips broke off that it is loose. I would like to just shoot some silicone adhesive under there and secure it. If it ever needs to come off again I am just screwed.

What is best product to use, or is this a terrible idea?

If any of you need to put this god forsaken product on a carbon bed from GMC in the future just call me, I can spare you a whole lot of heartache caused by absolutely shitty instructions.

3m automotive double stick tape. You can get it from an auto paint store.

Ask Tessica Brown what she put in her hair. That should do the trick.

Be careful with silicone.

Some can be corrosive to bare metals.

Butal tape really thin can work but the double sided is great if you prep the surfaces.

frick that bullshite. It ain’t what it used to be.

We have to remove these a lot and they break all the time, Fords especially. The insurance companies used to replace them because they are basically one time use. Over the last few years, the all of the sudden decided to stop, Progressive is the biggest bitch in this scenario.

What we do now, if the insurance company won’t pony up, is glue them down with windshield urethane. Just like with a windshield, it adheres to paint very well. Glue it and tape it down (masking tape) overnight then pull the tape in the morning.

Please, please, please don’t use gorilla glue.

Sure. Or you can run by an automotive glass shop and buy a tube and tip.

Sikaflex 252

About 7 years ago the westin running boards on my truck gave up the rubber on top. I tried gluing it back with some 3m spray with poor results. I then got some aluminum diamond plate cut to the same size and the sikaflex was recommended, It's been rock solid.

You are going to need a quality caulk gun. Don't think for a second that one of those $2 jobs is going to pump that stuff out.

WARNING: Black urethane is kind of like anti-seize, I'm convinced one tube could freshen up an entire Walmart parking lot.
