Told me that the ammo manufacturers are fulfilling current orders but are not taking any new orders. The mad rush won't get any better!

Not surprised they aren't taking any new orders.
They are months and months backlogged already.

If BO pulls some stupid shite like banning importation of ammo and/or preventing manufacturing of military brass, that backlog could hit a year.

I don't see the ammo shortage letting up anytime soon.

I' m in. It would be much more exciting than my current job.

Sounds like we could support one in the BR area alone.

I bet Bobby J would give PMC or Aguila a sweet tax break to open a facility in Louisiana.

Ask yourself this..Whats the fastest way to to control gun usage? All they have to do is say that Congress is going to pass a bunch of new gun control laws and ban assault weapons and what not, thus causing everyone to panic and start stockpiling ammo and guns. Even though these laws are still a ways out, NOW there is a shortage of ammo which controls gun usage just as much as the new laws will or even more so. Only difference is that now they have all the time they want to work on getting the new laws together , while still achieving the same goal of leaving us up a shite creek with no way to get ammo.
They just create a panic and then sit back and watch!! They created the demand with no way to supply it.

at this point, I am pretty sure that there are people that get paid to sit around and think up new ways to frick the american people. Well, those of us that actually work for a living anyway.

Maybe I'm just simple minded, but why don't ammo makers just add more production capabilities to keep up with demand? I know it isn't something they can just snap their fingers and do though.

WHile you make that sound correct, there is ammo out there in the hands of the people. They made the everyday ordinary joe stock pile which caused the shortage so people are more heavily armed than before all this so Im not buying that. And we're all waiting to buy more.

Now this I agree with. His has a record number of staff to help him do this.

Surely factorys that were running only one shift are stepping up and running a second and third shift. Not sure they could add more production lines but if I owned one the first thing I would do is hire more staff and run 24/7 if we didnt already. Problem is, most of the large ones prob already do. Just a guess.

You can bet the major sells were already running 24/7 and were close to producing near maximum. Now they may be able to edge out another 3-5%, but really the demand is so high it's like a void. No matter how much they make it gets bought instantly.

Im glad none is going to waste

If you want to talk about he government and the problem with the ammo shortage, I will tell you their role and its a huge one. Look at all the ammo its been stockpiling in different agencies like homeland security. Do a google search on the huge numbers of ammo the feds have bought in the last year. What are they stocking up for is what I want to know, and dont say the army, its been there for ever and they have never bought this much.
