quote:

Hornady SST does it's job and kills em quick, but don't expect an exit

Correct. And out of my barrels the SSTs weren’t very accurate.

quote:

The projectile will be stuck on th hide on the opposite side of the deer. Will be switching to the 120gr Noslers when I run out of the SST.

It’s been my experience that the 120gr NBT is a more rugged bullet than the SST and so it holds together better and retains more weight to get a pass through.

I did some unscientific research on similarly sized hogs and determined that the 120gr Sierra PH gives even more pass throughs. The animals are just as dead with any of them though.

I have one in AR platform. Absolutely love it. No recoil so you can stay on target while shooting. I have been telling everyone the last few years it’s the perfect youth caliber

6.5 Grendel has been my go to rifle for the past few years, using the Barnes tac tx bt bullet.

6 deer shot. 6 entry and exit wounds. Not a single deer has made it farther than 30 yds. Shots ranging from 30yds to 200yds.

Got my son one a couple weeks ago. Shooting the Hornady 123gr SST. He shot a doe at 100yds last week and she made it 40yds. Exited fine and left a blood trail even my colorblind eyes could follow.
