Perfectly legal to manufacture a non-NFA firearm for personal use. This is just a new, and for the foreseeable future, a novel way to test and experiment with new designs. These are rapid prototyping machines which is a detail that seems to escape most here.

I bought the QU-BD Revolution XL. You need to do your research, because most of these printers/software is based on open source and updates almost every couple of weeks. Start looking here RepRap Forum.
