I have bought one and own one. It is a DMPS Ar-10 .243

Obviously it kicks more than a .223 ,but less than a .308. When I bought it it got shipped to Puglia's and the guy went nuts over the gun. It is fun to shoot.

If you have any questions let me know. I think it is a great caliber for the ar platform, kind of a do it all gun.

On thing to remember about AR-10s, they’re heavy. My 6.5 cm is 15lbs or more.

Looks like you went with a long, heavy profile barrel and may have a large scope or other accessories.

My deer/hog rifle is an Aero Precision M5 (AR10) in 308 and weighs in at a modest 9lbs empty with a medium weight barrel (Faxon Big Gunner 18"). It is definitely heavier than a lightweight bolt 308 but I'm just so used to the AR platform that I wanted to keep things consistent. The bolt, action, and magazines are slightly different between the small-frame and large-frame AR platforms but the controls are the same and they use the same trigger group.
