.22 caliber centerfire is legal. No rimfire is legal to shoot deer in Louisiana.

I've shot the CB shorts out of my old single shot bolt and its not much more than a pop. I'm in real excited about a round that "may become lodged in the barrel".

Sounds good in theory, but the problem w/ the above round is "point of impact" in relation to your sight settings. I bought a box once. Shot a few rounds at close to 10 yards using the same settings on my 22 that I use for regular LR. The aforementioned round hit about 2 feet low. To use these rounds, you have to be at point blank range or have a gun sighted in to shoot exclusively this round. I've tried other "quiet" rounds as well (CB's, subsonic, etc), but never really impressed enough w/ any of them to ever buy a second box.
