I have a 22 caliber air rifle because it is subsonic (and quieter). I didn't know about the instability resulting from crossing through the sound barrier.

On the discussion of scopes, an air rifle scope would have different forces acting upon the scope similar to the reason a centerfire scope is not used on a rimfire rifle.

Tomcat rat traps screwed to a fence or trees. Piece of pecan for bait. A friend told me this

I had a couple squirrels getting in my attic. I set some Tomcat rat traps in the area the squirrels were using to access my gable vent and caught them in 2 days. The rat traps didn't kill them but would keep them caught in the trap until I could shoot them with my pellet gun. I used peanut butter for bait.

Benjamin Trail Nitro Piston2 is an awesome air rifle.
I bought the .22 and have not looked back.
I never even had to zero when I put the scope on.
It is quiet and deadly.

FTR, every Gamo I have ever bought was a piece of crap.

Good luck!!
